Microcurrent Therapy: A New Offering Under Our Naturopathic Care

Frequency Specific Microcurrent (FSM) Therapy is now available as part of our naturopathic services. This gentle, evidence-informed therapy supports the body’s natural healing processes and cellular recovery through the use of very low-level electrical currents.

What Is Frequency Specific Microcurrent (FSM)?

FSM uses a very low electrical current, measured in microamps about one-thousandth the strength of a standard TENS unit. This current is so gentle that it is typically not felt during treatment.

The FSM device used in our clinic is Health Canada–approved, ensuring it meets strict safety and effectiveness standards.

How It Works

FSM is based on the principle that specific frequencies of current can influence specific tissues and conditions in the body.

  • One frequency targets the condition (such as inflammation or fibrosis).

  • Another frequency targets the tissue (such as a nerve, muscle, or fascia).

By combining these paired frequencies, FSM aims to deliver precise and targeted effects, supporting optimal healing and tissue repair.

Cellular-Level Benefits

Research has shown that microcurrent therapy can increase the production of ATP (adenosine triphosphate) the primary energy molecule within our cells. This rise in cellular energy may help:

  • Reduce inflammation and pain

  • Support nerve and tissue regeneration

  • Improve healing of scar tissue

  • Address chronic pain and neuropathic conditions

What to Expect During Treatment

Microcurrent therapy is administered using moist towels placed on specific areas of the skin, such as the back of the neck, ankles, abdomen, arms, or hands. The treatment is comfortable and non-invasive, with most people finding it very relaxing.

Please wear loose, comfortable clothing that allows access to these areas. Gowns are available for your convenience if needed.

Initial Assessment Required

Before beginning microcurrent therapy, an initial assessment with our naturopathic doctor is required. This assessment allows the doctor to review your health history, understand your concerns, and determine whether FSM therapy is appropriate for your needs.

If suitable, microcurrent therapy may be provided during this first visit, allowing you to begin treatment right away.

The integration of microcurrent therapy into naturopathic care sounds like such a game-changer for anyone dealing with chronic inflammation or just looking for a non-invasive way to boost cellular repair. As someone who spends far too many hours hunched over a laptop, I’m constantly looking for holistic ways to manage the physical toll of stress and poor posture. This semester has been particularly grueling, and the academic pressure got so intense that I actually reached out to an economics assignment help service just to keep up with my data modeling deadlines and prevent a total burnout. Seeing treatments like this makes me realize how important it is to invest in our long-term recovery instead of just pushing through the pain. Thanks…
