The Hidden Culprit: Multilevel Nerve Entrapment

Nerves don't travel through open air; they thread through tight anatomical "tunnels" formed by muscles, fascia, and bone.

Instead of viewing this case as a single pinched nerve or a isolated muscle strain, our team looked at it through the Multilevel Entrapment Model (sometimes referred to as a "double-crush" phenomenon).

Following the impact of the crash, two major areas along the nerve pathway reacted with protective muscle guarding:

  1. The Interscalene Triangle (Side of the Neck): Tightness in the anterior and middle scalene muscles compressed the nerve root network as it exited the neck.

  2. The Retropectoralis Minor Space (Front of the Chest): As those same sensitized nerves traveled downward, they ran into a second bottleneck beneath a tight pectoralis minor muscle in the chest.
