BC Launches Public IVF Funding in July 2025

The BC Government has officially announced a Publicly Funded IVF Program starting July 2025, a long awaited milestone for many families across the province. Here are the key details:
Coverage: Up to $19,000 for one IVF cycle per eligible resident
Eligibility: Must be MSP enrolled, between the ages of 18 and 41
Start Date: Applications open July 2, 2025
How to Apply: Through BC fertility specialists
Where: Treatment must be completed at participating fertility clinics in BC
While acupuncture treatments are not currently included in this public funding, it's still incredible news for the fertility community. This program creates new opportunities for many British Columbians who previously could not access or afford fertility care. With core IVF costs now covered, you may also have more flexibility in your budget to invest in supportive treatments like Acupuncture and Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM), which can be combined with evidence based modern scientific treatments to help you move toward your fertility goals with greater care, confidence, and the most effective outcomes.
Supporting Your Fertility Journey with Acupuncture and TCM

At Yoon Clinic, we understand that the fertility journey can be physically and emotionally demanding. That’s why we offer a dedicated IVF Support Program using Acupuncture and Traditional Chinese Medicine, designed to complement your medical treatments.
Whether you're:

Recovering after embryo transfer
our individualized treatments aim to support hormonal balance, improve blood flow to the uterus, reduce stress, and optimize reproductive health naturally and holistically.
What the Research Says
There is growing clinical evidence that acupuncture and TCM may enhance IVF success:
A 2008 meta analysis in the BMJ found that acupuncture performed on the day of embryo transfer significantly increased pregnancy rates, showing 65 percent higher odds of success compared to no acupuncture.
Studies suggest acupuncture may:
Improve uterine blood flow
Help regulate key reproductive hormones
Reduce uterine contractions after transfer, supporting implantation
Research has also shown acupuncture can reduce stress and anxiety, which are known to impact fertility outcomes.
A 2019 review in Reproductive Biomedicine Online noted that personalized and consistent acupuncture treatments had better effects on IVF outcomes than one time or minimal protocols.
The World Health Organization (WHO) recognizes acupuncture as a complementary treatment for fertility related concerns, and many fertility specialists recommend it as part of an integrated care plan.
We are honored to walk alongside you at every step of your fertility journey, offering care that blends ancient wisdom with modern science, always tailored to your unique needs.
